DeHello everyone, Barbara Riley here. Just want to tell a bit about the hands I was in on June 6th in Jacksonville, Florida. I have had S.T. for 5 years now and lost a lot in that short amount of time by becoming a couch potato! My friends, and my husband, and my job! So what’s a woman to do? Answer: whatever the doctor says! I stayed sick for a long time as most of us do, 600 units of botox was making me look like the walking dead! Tried the Baclofen pump....won't go there! Let's just say it didn't work for me!
Then, I went to a new doctor and got Myobloc. It worked but not as long as botox for me! As the saying goes, I was sick and tired of being sick and tired! My mother was my only fan at that point. I would make plans to do something easy like go out to dinner, but, when the 3:00 pm hour rolled around I was useless and had to say my famous words..."I don't feel good"! There goes the social life!
I knew there was help out there so I had a long talk with the spouse of a man that had the denervation surgery. She said he was so much better and they were going places.....real places, like out to dinner and for drives! Doctor Carlos Arce is the man responsible for this miracle! I decided to make the call and was called back by him, and he said very simple things for me to do to prepare myself for my trip to Jacksonville!
Of course it is a scary thing, but I sure am happy I called him! He and his staff have to be the kindest people I (and my mom) have ever met! They go the extra mile for you! To make this long story short, I had an 8 hour surgery and lots of staples, but no pulling from the moment I woke up! Every day I can move my neck a bit more! My head is straight everyone!
I do want to toss a big hug to Howard T. Lindakaye, Sue R,. Don G., Nancy H., Anne B., Loretta H., lots of prayer and our group in San Antonio Texas, and last but not least, my mom for being patient and tolerant and downright bored waiting for me to get tests done!
Just to end this by saying if you have any thought of denervation surgery DO IT! That is what I was told and so far so good! I have not run a marathon ...yet...but that
is a goal! I will get a bit of botox in my left shoulder but not anywhere near 600 units!
My life seems to have gotten better and I am feeling like getting out, maybe even a date or two! Don't get me wrong, I am not S.T. free but a bit of relief is a lot of relief!
Now my big hug to Doctor Arce and staff, you are a true and wonderful man; I know why everyone said he's the BEST!
Oh by the way I do have some new friends and I feel almost human! Praying to get to
Symposium, would love to see you all!
Thanks for the support and the prayers!
