Different Ideas • Different Subjects • Different Speakers

Our Baltimore Symposium was GREAT; Las Vegas will be GREATER. You may attribute it to all of the glamour, glitz and glitter of Las Vegas; to all of the shows; to all of the excitement but you can also attribute it to what we started last year and that was the new format of our symposiums - - - a format designed to give you an in depth experience with our presenters - the BREAK OUT corners where you can, for a period of about 5 minutes, ask some personal questions about your own situation. Time doesn't allow more than that but it's a start for you to find out some of those things that have been bothering you. Interested? Well then, come along to Las Vegas and see and hear some of the worlds finest neurologists in the field of spasmodic torticollis tell us about...........

8:30 AM James Auberle, MD, Toledo Clinic
Difficulties of Treating people with spasmodic tor ticollis

9:15 AM Paul Cullis, MD, Michigan Neurology Institute
What is NOT idiopathic (unknown cause) spasmodic torticollis

9:45 AM BREAK

10:00 AM Carlos Arce, MD, University of Florida
Selective Denervation Operation

10:45 AM Erwin Montgomery, MD, University of Wisconsin, Madison
Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) Operation

11:15 PM Ryan Irvine, Ph.D, microbiologist, Allergan Pharmaceutical
How do biologic products cause immuno genecity (immunity)?

After the presentations there will be a Q & A session for about 2 - 2 1/2 hours asking any question you care to ask and, THEN, we'll finish with the break out corners until about 4 P.M..

But, that's not the whole symposium. There are other things happening and it's on the fun end of it. That's a key ingredient. ...and it doesn't stop there because one of the greatest things about a symposium is the people. It's not only fun to meet the people you met last year or in the years prior but it's also great to meet new people and to share information with them about what's helping you. Sometimes that's better than any of the suggestions the doctors come out with. There is a certain power we all have that can help our fellow ST'r.

Talking about the fun (and food) side of it, it all starts with tours and we have some good ones (see our insert) and then, on Friday night, September 26th, our symposium officially begins with a grand Italian buffet at 5:45 PM (cash bar) and food served starting at 6PM. Registration begins at 4 PM.

On Saturday at noon we'll have a working lunch with a box lunch being served for you. At night, when the fun really begins, the cash bar will open at 5:45 PM with a plated dinner at 7 to 8 and then- - - - - ENTERTAINMENT - - - - and, last but not least, DANCING WITH THE STARS (ALL OF YOU).

Sunday - 9:00 AM - Let's try something different and constructive. Our ongoing web site survey tells us the vast majority of ST'rs suffer from embarassment, lack of family understanding them and depression among a host of other things. Can we help all those people? Let's discuss what we've gone through and possibly overcome these issues and then we can put our suggestions/recommendation/advice in writing for others to read and learn from.

ARE YOU READY?
