LABERTA MCGRUDER
Outstanding Person
In February, 2007 Arthur McGruder wrote a letter on behalf of his Mother, Laberta "Birdie" McGruder to the Woman’s Club in Ithaca, NY asking that she be considered as one of their Outstanding Women of the Year. When we heard of it, bingo, LaBerta or Birdie became our January ST'rs Achiever. Not only is she an Outstanding Woman in the Ithaca community but you can add a whole list of accomplishments to that. She graduated with a degree in Massage and followed that up in her own business doing massages for 10 years. She's also a paralegal and, of course, has ST, but it doesn't get her down. In fact she's been involved in helping those less fortunate people as well as serving on the boards of the Community Police and the Finger Lakes Independence Center. In 2007 she was chosen as one of the 20 Outstanding Women You Should Know. This was out of over 200 women.
Laberta stays busy as you can see so it is with great pleasure and honor that she's this months" ST'rs Achiever”. Congratulations, Birdie! WHO IS NEXT? Let us know.
