BOTOX Dreams Campaign

Do You Have A Dream?
Share Your CD Story - You Could Receive A $10,000 Grant
To Improve Your Community

Allergan, Inc. has launched the BOTOX®Dreams campaign, a national health education and philanthropic campaign established to recognize people who are living with the challenges of cervical dystonia (CD) and now wish to give back to their communities. Allergan is partnering with professional ice hockey player and CD patient Rem Murray, to help raise awareness of CD, celebrate those who have successfully managed their condition and inspire others to reach for their dreams. Murray, who is tied for the National Hockey League (NHL) record for most regular-season games played in one season, was forced into early retirement due to the debilitating impact of his disease. Fortunately, thanks to Murray’s healthcare team, which includes his neurologist and osteopathic physician, he received an accurate diagnosis, prompt treatment with BOTOX® (Botulinum Toxin Type A), and a rigorous physical therapy regimen. Murray was subsequently able to return to the NHL and played an important role in the Edmonton Oilers drive to the Stanley Cup Finals in 2006.

As part of the campaign, Allergan will provide grants of $10,000 each to fulfill the philanthropic “wish” of four CD patients. The “wish” is to provide a service and/or additional resources to a philanthropic and community-focused program of their choice, such as community libraries, senior centers, police and fire departments and/or charitable organizations. Patients living with CD are invited to submit an essay describing their struggle with the condition and what treatment with BOTOX® has meant to them. Entries are due by July 21.

ST Dystonia, Inc. is proud to be a part of this campaign as a member of the judging panel, which includes Rem Murray, leading neurologists and representatives from other patient advocacy organizations, as it will help raise awareness of CD, its impact on one’s life and necessity for early diagnosis and treatment. Also, even more importantly, the campaign will give a “voice” to CD patients who for the first time will share their stories publicly and give hope to others living with the condition.

So, do you have a story to tell? To find out more about the campaign and to obtain an official entry form, visit www.BOTOXMedical.com and click on BOTOX® Dreams.
